Adam Kane Macchia, born in 1979, grew up in Mt. Kisco, NY. His photographic experience in NYC began in 2008 assisting with C. Taylor Crothers.  Taylor's work shooting some of the top real estate in the city inspired a love of interiors and design.  Soon after, Adam began assisting with Eric Piasecki to explore the art of interior photography.  Capturing a beautifully designed space has become Adam's most gratifying experience in his work.  He loves discovering new places, meeting new people and has enjoyed fantastic collaborations with clients such as:

The New York Times, Luxe Interiors, Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Digest, NYC&G, Westchester Magazine, Baxt Ingui Architects, BHDM Design, AvroKo, The Crown Restaurant Group, The Gotham Organization, The Carlton Hotel, Hilton Hotels and The Garden City Hotel

Currently, Adam lives in Huntington Station, NY with his wife Jenny, and his children Leo and Dorothea.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hunter Douglas

I was excited recently when I was out shopping for new blinds to see that my photograph was on the cover of the Hunter Douglas catalog.  The shot was taken in 2016 during the filming of a TV commercial for Hunter Duglas with Iris Apfel.   I was there to photograph the sets, but also had the chance to marvel at everything that goes into making a production like this happen.  And they definitely picked the right location because these 2 story windows really showed their product well!

Huntington Bay

Here is a turn of the century tudor home in Huntington Bay, Long Island I photographed for The New York Times Real Estate section.  I only have a couple of hours to capture an entire house on these jobs so I need to just let the inspiration guide me and not worry about how many lines aren’t perfectly straight!  The house felt rich with history and I really enjoyed exploring and creating these moody images on a rainy day.

Cabin time

Some cozy Vermont images from my recent visit…

Interior Design Magazine feature

I finally had a chance to check out the November issue of Interior Design where BHDM Design was featured as one of their 40 emerging designers. I couldn’t be more happy for Dan, Brian and the team at BHDM who I have worked with for almost as long as I have been in New York. The article featured a project they designed for Flywheel Sports, which I had the pleasure to shoot this past summer. Thank you to ID for the great layout and as always to BHDM for the opportunity.

NYC&G October Issue

It has been so much fun to see the story I photographed about a home in Tribeca appear on the cover of NYC&G. The interiors are by my great friend Elizabeth Bolognino. Her talent is never ending and she deserves most of the credit for this; I am just grateful to be along for the ride! I loved heading over to Hudson News and seeing it on the rack at Penn Station. Then in a surreal twist, a store called Mitchell’s in Huntington (where I live) decided to re-create the cover in one of their store windows. Its all exciting but now its on to the next project and hopefully more good things to come!

Seattle and San Juan Islands

Recently I made it out to the pacific northwest for the first time. We got lucky with some great weather and the trip out to the San Juan islands really showed off the beauty of the place. Here are a few iPhone images I captured along the way.

Old Westbury Gardens

I love going into these preserved mansions on the North shore of Long Island and soaking in the interiors.  This one is full of rich wood tones and lovely patterned wallpaper.  The gardens are great to stroll around in as well.

Summer in Sweden

Every couple of years my wife goes home to her home country of Sweden and I am lucky enough to tag along.  Its not really a tourist experience as much as it is a chance for her to see family and friends.  Even so, I have a camera with me wherever we go because for me there is novelty and great light.  These shots were taken while we walked around in the neighborhood or took short hikes in the woods.  There is one museum trip thrown in, a sculptor’s old studio that I made us go see!  Anyway, these are the things that caught my eye and somehow seemed to fit together into a gallery at the end.  Thanks for taking a look!

Old Tudor Charm

I really enjoyed photographing this old home in Great Neck, NY for a realtor.  It has been lived in by the same family for 45 years.  I love trying to capture the individual charm of the place.  And if you are interested in the home – check out the listing:,-Great-Neck,-NY-11020_rb/

Snow days 2017

There have only been a couple of snow days this year in the New York area, but I was happy to get some snowy NYC images along the way.   When photographing architecture and real estate we generally don’t choose bad weather days to shoot, so it was nice to see a different perspective on the city landscape.  Thanks for taking a look!
